About the position

As a Medical Assistant at Banner Health, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting clinicians in a dynamic healthcare environment. This position involves preparing patients for examinations, assisting with medical procedures, managing patient care coordination, and ensuring a clean and functional clinical environment. Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for exams and treatments by taking and recording vital signs and symptoms.
  • Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures, including taking blood pressure and performing EKGs.
  • Coordinates and manages patient care, including pre-certifications, referrals, and scheduling.
  • Provides clerical support with patient notifications and documentation, ensuring accurate billing information.
  • Maintains a clean and functional environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and exam rooms.
  • Orders supplies and manages medication tasks as directed.
  • Develops and maintains effective communication with all customers, exemplifying service orientation.
  • Completes necessary onboarding and orientation activities, including simulation training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an organized fashion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments.
  • Knowledge of insurance and managed care operations.
  • Familiarity with EMR and scheduling software.
