About the position

The Medical Assistant at AdventHealth Medical Group plays a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality medical care to patients. This position is designed for individuals who are committed to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a supportive environment for patients. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include documenting patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, assisting with patient intake, and ensuring that all medical documentation is completed in a timely and thorough manner. The role requires a strong ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively under the guidance of the clinic physician and manager. In this float position, the Medical Assistant will work across various clinics located in Johnson, Miami, and Douglas counties, adapting to the needs of each clinic as required. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a commitment of 40 hours per week. The Medical Assistant will be expected to perform essential healthcare services, including administering immunizations, managing patient medications, and communicating electronically with patients as needed. This role is integral to the overall patient experience, ensuring that each individual feels valued and cared for in a holistic manner. Responsibilities

  • Assist the provider in the delivery of medical care to clinic patients.
  • Maintain high customer service skills with all patient interactions.
  • Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Complete medical documentation upon patient intake in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Administer immunizations as required.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures for patient medications and testing.
  • Communicate electronically with patients when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification is required.
  • BLS obtained through the American Heart Association.
