About the position

The Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist at Bhasin Pediatrics is responsible for supporting healthcare providers in delivering optimal patient care and ensuring efficient patient flow in a fast-paced environment. This role involves a variety of tasks including preparing treatment rooms, recording patient information, administering vaccines, and managing patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients, keeping patient areas clean and well stocked.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height) and record information on patients' charts.
• Administer vaccines and perform other Medical Assistant duties as needed.
• Distribute appropriate patient information sheets, lab forms, school forms, medication forms, and x-ray slips to patients as requested by the providers.
• Greet, instruct, direct, and schedule patients.
• Check in patients, verify and update necessary information in the practice EMR.
• Ensure correct insurance coverage.
• File and coordinate lab work and physician reports.
• Stock and maintain clean patient rooms and waiting area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred but willing to train the right person.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to inquiries and write using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Windows applications, including Excel and word processing.
• Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
