This position is integral to maintaining a clean and organized clinic while facilitating effective communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and checking vitals
  • Assisting with procedures
  • Clinic preparation according to provider-specific protocols
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Organizing and performing patient care services that support the physician's practice
  • Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
  • Collecting patient data in person and by phone
  • Documenting patient concerns, messages, and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
  • Administering medications as directed by the physician
  • Scheduling appointments and procedures
  • Taking complete and accurate messages
  • Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
  • Entering orders and referrals, acquiring pre-certifications
  • Setting up cases in EPIC and updating demographics

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or Medical Assistance Certification
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting
