About the position

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) plays a crucial role in supporting the healthcare team at MultiCare Clinics. This part-time position involves working under the supervision of licensed healthcare practitioners to provide patient care and perform clinical tasks. The MA-C is responsible for ensuring smooth patient flow, assisting with examinations, and managing clerical duties, all while adhering to the highest standards of care and compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
• Interviewing patients
• Obtaining vital signs
• Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
• Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
• Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
• Sending and receiving of patient medical records
• Facilitating patient referrals
• Preparing forms for patients

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants
• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
