About the position

The position involves performing nursing duties at an intermediate level, assisting in patient care planning and implementation based on clinical judgment and experience. The role includes screening patients, performing specialized procedures, and serving as a nursing resource for clinical staff. The position may be onsite, hybrid, or remote, and requires adherence to nursing regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient history and gather information.
  • Perform specialized procedures, examinations, and tests as ordered.
  • Ensure patient care areas are stocked with unexpired supplies and medications.
  • Sterilize instruments and equipment as required.
  • Facilitate communication between the provider and the patient.
  • Reinforce health education and counseling to patients and families.
  • Evaluate patient's health status based on presenting symptoms and follow protocols.
  • Track and monitor follow-up of diagnostic test results.
  • Assist in managing patient care between visits.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and scheduling for diagnostic services.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Document and process prescription requests and refills.

Requirements

  • Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program or National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
  • Diploma or Associate's Degree from an accredited LPN program required.
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hyperbaric medicine or willingness to take a 40-hour introductory course for Hyperbaric Medicine.
