About the position

The clinical staff at the Premier Physician Network are responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care under the direction and supervision of the center's physicians and/or providers. A minimum patient base of 1,000 to 3,000 patients is served, and an average of 20 - 50 patients are seen each day. The clinical staff will assist providers with patient care that includes, but is not limited to order entry, reporting, phone calls, clerical, and organizational tasks, and related duties. As directed by the provider, this position must be able to independently perform procedures which may include venipuncture, administration of injections, pulmonary function tests, ear irrigations, ultrasound therapy, muscle stimulation, hot/cold packs, EKGs, breathing treatment, x-rays, lab testing, Holter monitoring, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests. This position may also assist provider/s with surgical and medical procedures, e.g. minor wound repair, foreign body removals, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient care including order entry, reporting, and phone calls.
  • Perform clinical procedures such as venipuncture and administration of injections.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and ear irrigations.
  • Administer ultrasound therapy and muscle stimulation.
  • Apply hot/cold packs and perform EKGs and breathing treatments.
  • Conduct x-rays, lab testing, and Holter monitoring.
  • Perform dressing changes and wound cleaning.
  • Conduct hearing and vision tests.
  • Assist with surgical and medical procedures as directed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or certification through a recognized certifying organization for Medical Assistant applicants.
  • Completion of a practical nursing and pharmacology program and current state licensure for Licensed Practical Nurse applicants.
  • Prior experience in an ambulatory health care facility preferred.
  • Ability to learn related center tasks and assist management and physicians.
  • Self-motivated to achieve high patient care and customer service standards.
  • CPR certified within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Familiarity with the EPIC EMR is strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
  • Active Ohio licensure for Registered Nursing applicants.
