About the position

As a Medical Assistant at Monument Health, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate patient-focused care in an ambulatory clinic setting. This position involves collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver both direct and indirect patient care, ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. Responsibilities

• Properly prepares the examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.
• Completes patient rooming procedures including vital signs and data collection.
• Accurately administers and documents unit dose medications/immunizations according to clinic policy.
• Performs EKGs and laboratory testing as per CLIA license of the clinic.
• Ensures accurate, clear, and concise documentation in patient records.
• May function as provider scribe following successful training.
• Completes assigned clerical activities and maintains supply ordering as directed.
• Assists with scheduling follow-up care/appointments as ordered.
• Distributes pre-printed/pre-approved patient education materials.
• Directs patient questions to provider or RN.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies.
• Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility.
• Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by recognized certifying bodies.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification from AHA within 60 days of hire or transfer.

Nice-to-haves

• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• 1+ years of clinical experience.
• 1+ years of healthcare experience.
