About the position
The Medical Assistant or LPN position at Lifestages Centers for Women involves providing essential clinical and procedural patient care under the supervision of the Practice Manager and Physicians. The role is crucial in ensuring a high-quality patient experience, with responsibilities including rooming patients, collecting vital signs, and performing various medical procedures. The Medical Assistant will typically see upwards of 30 patients per day and is expected to maintain excellent documentation and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and collect vital signs.
- Perform pulmonary function tests and administer injections.
- Conduct EKGs and breathing treatments.
- Assist with lab testing, dressing changes, and wound cleaning.
- Conduct hearing and vision tests.
- Maintain accurate documentation and attention to detail.
- Assist management and physicians with related tasks.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent certificate.
- Graduated from a recognized Medical Assistant program or be a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Prior experience in an ambulatory health care facility preferred.
- Ability to learn related center tasks and assist management and physicians.
- Self-motivated to achieve high patient care and customer service standards.
- CPR certified within the first 3 months of employment.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Familiarity with the EPIC EMR is strongly preferred.
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
