About the position
The Medical Assistant (Outpatient) position at Adventist Health involves providing non-invasive, routine technical support services in a clinical setting. The role is essential for ensuring smooth operations within the clinic, including patient check-in, vital signs monitoring, and assisting healthcare providers with various tasks under their supervision. This full-time position requires working 12-hour shifts in a same-day clinic environment.
Responsibilities
- Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
- Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers.
- Obtains vital signs and reports significant findings to the clinic physician.
- Performs venipunctures as ordered.
- Conducts audiometry and vision testing.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Education/GED or equivalent (Preferred).
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience (Preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification (Required).
- Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP within six months of hire (Preferred).
- Phlebotomy certificate (Preferred).
