About the position

The Medical Assistant (Outpatient) position at Adventist Health is a per diem role focused on providing technical support services in a clinical setting. The role involves working under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals to ensure patient care and operational efficiency in the outpatient environment.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
  • Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers.
  • Obtains vital signs and reports significant findings to the clinic physician.
  • Performs venipunctures as ordered.
  • Conducts audiometry and vision testing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience (Preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification (Required).
  • Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or a certificate from CHDP within six months of hire (Preferred).
  • Phlebotomy certificate (Preferred).
