About the position

The Medical Assistant (Outpatient) position at Adventist Health is a per diem role responsible for providing non-invasive, routine technical support services under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals. This role is essential in ensuring smooth clinic operations and maintaining patient care standards in a community-focused healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
• Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers.
• Obtains vital signs and reports significant findings to the clinic physician.
• Performs venipunctures as ordered and conducts audiometry and vision testing.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent (Preferred).
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience (Preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification (Required).
• Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or a certificate from CHDP within six months of hire (Preferred).
• Phlebotomy certificate (Preferred).
