About the position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Service Coordinator role at Hartford HealthCare involves providing essential clinical and clerical support in patient care within the Medical Assistant scope. This position is integral to the delivery of healthcare services in a busy medical environment, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support throughout their visit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic clinical support to patients under the Medical Assistant scope of education.
  • Assist with clerical tasks related to patient care and office operations.
  • Maintain all required credentials and certifications throughout employment.
  • Participate in continued training and education related to the Medical Assistant role.

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic Certification.
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire or job transfer date.
  • At least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
  • Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred.
