About the position

We are searching for a Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team in Corte Madera, CA. This position is per diem, meaning you will work as needed, with shifts typically lasting 10.5 hours. Our clinic operates from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and we see mostly lower acuity patients in a fast-paced, paperless environment. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing excellent medical care to our patients, which includes taking vitals, rooming patients, cleaning rooms, and assisting with various medical procedures. In this role, you will perform patient care tasks such as taking vitals, gathering patient history, and triaging patients. You will assist with procedures like incision and drainage, lacerations, and wound care. Additionally, you will administer medications through various routes, conduct lab testing, and manage front desk duties as needed. We are looking for someone who is flexible and available to work on weekdays, weekends, and some holidays, as our clinic operates during these times. Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient history, and triaging patients.
  • Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations, and wound care.
  • Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes.
  • Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, urine pregnancy tests, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, and rapid HIV testing.
  • Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Great communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
