The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at Vibrance by Hometown plays a vital role in enhancing the patient experience at a weight loss and wellness clinic. This position involves direct patient interaction, clinical support, and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth operation within the clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, experience in a clinical setting, and skills in phlebotomy, contributing to the overall mission of empowering individuals in their health and wellness journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and register them into the EHR system upon arrival.
  • Conduct initial assessments, including vital signs and medical history collection.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Perform phlebotomy tasks and process blood samples for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms.
  • Educate patients on weight loss programs, nutritional guidance, and wellness strategies.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using EHR systems.
  • Coordinate with laboratories and other healthcare facilities for testing and referrals.
  • Manage inventory, pharmacy orders, and medical supplies.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or healthcare setting.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and experience with drawing blood.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with E-clinical works EHR systems and basic computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in weight loss, particularly with Semiglutide and Trizepitide patients.
  • Med spa experience or family practice atmosphere is a plus.
  • Knowledge of weight loss and wellness principles.
