Medical Assistant- Plastic Surgery

About the position

The Plastic Surgery Medical Assistant will support providers in delivering high-quality patient care in a professional and caring environment. The role involves assisting with various medical and cosmetic procedures, ensuring patient education, and maintaining treatment areas to enhance productivity and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate providers with all patient visits and procedures to increase productivity: medical or cosmetic results, MOHS, excisions, procedures, wound care, etc.
• Photograph treatment sites as required.
• Assist providers with patients, educate patients verbally and with printed materials as directed by doctor or policy/procedures: preoperative care, wound care, medications, cosmetic procedures, etc.
• Help to ensure patients are scheduled for appropriate follow up appointments, maintain cleanliness in treatment areas/rooms.
• Handle telephone calls regarding preoperative care, wound care, minor complications, etc; discuss with doctor and document in medical record.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of treatment supplies, ensure all rooms are set up for providers, keep procedure rooms stocked with educational handouts and medical supplies.
• Assist in sterilization and preparation of instruments.
• Assist with maintenance of sterilization equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Energetic, professional, mature, reliable, and people-oriented individual.
• In office procedure assist experience preferred.
• Great attitude and Team Player is a MUST!!
