About the position
The Medical Assistant (MA) position at Golden Valley Health Centers involves performing nursing procedures and patient registration tasks at the Manteca and Patterson Podiatry Clinics. The MA plays a crucial role in providing excellent patient care services, coordinating with various healthcare professionals, and ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the day. This full-time role requires effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing procedures and patient registration tasks.
- Coordinate duties with the Back Office Supervisor and licensed providers.
- Maintain efficient patient care flow throughout the day.
- Collect and record patient data including vital signs and medical history.
- Administer medications and vaccines, and perform specimen collection.
- Assist in uncomplicated wound care and suture removal.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist providers as needed.
- Provide patient education and instructions upon provider authorization.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in patient areas.
- Participate in staff education and training activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and Medical Assisting certificate from an accredited program.
- Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and back office procedures.
- Basic computer skills and data entry skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
