The Medical Assistant will be responsible for managing patient flow, assisting with examinations, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient flow of clinic, greeting patients and families, and preparing them for provider examination.
• Obtain vital signs and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Perform in-office laboratory tests and enter results into EMR.
• Administer immunizations and prescribed medications according to guidelines.
• Maintain and review patient's EMR and ensure accurate documentation is available for provider reviews.
• Prepare equipment and rooms, assisting physicians during treatments, examinations, procedures, and testing of patients.
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Ensure provider's orders are carried out, including arranging for patient diagnostic testing and scheduling referrals.
• Safely store medications and immunizations, evaluating expiration dates monthly.
• Answer and respond to phone calls, scheduling patients according to need.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Certification by American Association of Medical Assistants preferred.
• Must obtain AHA BLS Certification within 90 days of hire date and maintain as required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a pediatric primary care setting.
• Knowledge of EMR systems.
