About the position

The Medical Assistant (MA) position at Middlesex Health is a part-time role that plays a crucial role in the patient care team. The MA will work under the direction of the Practice Manager and will be responsible for performing various clinical duties to assist healthcare providers in delivering timely and effective care to patients. The MA will also be tasked with general clerical or administrative duties as directed by the Practice Manager, contributing to the overall efficiency of the practice. In this position, the MA will engage with patients, helping to create a welcoming environment and ensuring that patients feel comfortable during their visits. The role involves a combination of clinical responsibilities, such as taking patient histories, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting providers during procedures, as well as administrative tasks like scheduling appointments and managing patient records. The MA must be adept at using electronic health records and have a solid understanding of medical terminology and medications to effectively support the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare providers. This part-time position is scheduled for 27 hours a week, specifically from Wednesday to Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule while still making a significant impact on patient care.
