The Medical Assistant position at SSM Health involves assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the supervision of healthcare providers. Responsibilities
- Assists with treatments ordered by the provider as supervised by a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
- Performs select clinical duties including interviewing patients and measuring vital signs.
- Records information on patients' charts and prepares treatment rooms for examinations.
- Handles basic clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
- Manages materials by ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment in the clinic.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- No prior experience required.
