About the position

The Medical Assistant works with the physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties, in the 'Front Office' or 'Back Office'. The medical assistant also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the department, including gathering, organizing and documenting healthcare data information. Additionally, if assigned to the Call Center, the MA will be responsible for answering and routing patient calls, scheduling of patient appointments per department guidelines. The medical assistant reports directly to the practice manager, RN supervisor or director.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical and administrative patient-related duties in the Front Office or Back Office.
• Ensure smooth patient flow within the department.
• Gather, organize, and document healthcare data information.
• Answer and route patient calls if assigned to the Call Center.
• Schedule patient appointments per department guidelines.

Requirements

• Completion of Medical Assistant Program - Accredited Required
• 1 year Ambulatory Preferred
• 1 year Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Preferred
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Certification Required

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Preferred
• CMA - Certified Medical Assistant Preferred
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) Preferred
• Bilingual preferred
• Completion and documentation of California requirements with demonstrated competency for venipuncture/phlebotomy - Preferred

Benefits

• Pay Range: $30.38 - $41.02 Hourly
• Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
• Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
