About the position

The Medical Assistant TPT Instructor at Hennepin Technical College is a temporary part-time role focused on delivering high-quality education in medical assisting. The instructor will be responsible for teaching both lecture and lab courses, developing curriculum, and supporting student success through various instructional methods. This position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in career and technical education.

Responsibilities

• Teach lecture and lab courses in Medical Assistant.
• Develop and implement curriculum, including instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes.
• Integrate assessment activities into teaching practices and participate in department-wide assessment of student learning.
• Support student success through various instructional methods and available office hours.
• Contribute to department decisions on budget, scheduling, and textbook selection.
• Participate in campus and college matters through service on committees and attendance at meetings.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
• Three full-time years of verified related paid work experience as a medical assistant, with one year within the last five years.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in postsecondary teaching in the credential field.
• Familiarity with online and hybrid course development.
