The Medical Assistant Trainee Program is a comprehensive program that offers hands-on training and mentorship to individuals interested in pursuing a rewarding career in healthcare as a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant Trainee's primary responsibility is to learn how to assist in the delivery of health care management for the practice throughout a six-weeks full time training period. The training program is developed to allow the trainee to actively participate and support the primary clinical teams upon completion of program and the passing of validation. The Medical Assistant Trainee is a professional member of the interdisciplinary team and consistently demonstrates and promotes the values of the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
  • BLS/CPR: current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a six weeks full time training program consisting of anatomy and physiology, vocabulary of medical terminology and abbreviations, patient education and safety.
  • Learn hands on skills such as vital signs, EKG's, Gletry, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and office specific tasks assigned to MA's.
