About The Position

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 45 days of hire.
  • Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop rapport with patients and team members.
  • Proficient computer skills, including navigation within a Windows operating system and electronic medical records.

  • Experience in urgent care or similar healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and rooms patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
  • Monitors and completes Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures and notifies clinicians of opportunities.
  • Performs laboratory procedures such as strep tests and specimen collection using aseptic techniques.
  • Assists Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians with procedures like pelvic exams and allergy testing.
  • Administers routine medications under Physician/APC orders or approved protocols.
  • Follows through with procedure requests, care algorithms, and referrals to other services.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and healthcare team members to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • May perform advanced clinical support tasks based on specialty and competencies, such as sutures removal and EKGs.
