About the position

The Medical Assistant at Platinum Dermatology Partners plays a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care within a fast-paced dermatology clinic. This position involves assisting physicians with examinations, managing patient records, and ensuring the clinic operates smoothly. The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion and professionalism while effectively supporting the medical team and patients.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from the exam room, preparing them for their examination.
• Enter complete medical histories along with patients' current medications into the chart.
• Assist the Physician/Provider in the room by scribing the notes in the patient's medical record.
• Assist with setting up biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms.
• Laboratory maintenance that includes cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
• Other duties as assigned to the back office.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• 1-2 years of experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant.
• Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Strong phone etiquette.
• Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
• Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers alike.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working on electronic medical records.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Dermatology and surgical experience preferred.
• Spanish language skills.
