As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our patients while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and both front office and clinical staff. This position is primarily based in our MedExpress urgent care center in Winchester, VA, but may also require you to work at other local sites as needed. The role involves a full-time schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with the possibility of rotating weekends and holidays depending on patient volume and business needs. In this position, you will perform clinical intake with patients, which includes taking and recording vital signs and patient history. You will assist patients with various needs, such as walking, transferring, specimen collection, and exam preparation. Daily tasks will also include completing patient referrals and callbacks, maintaining clinical supplies and equipment, and ensuring proper storage of biohazards. Additionally, you will be responsible for cleaning exam and procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to uphold infection control standards.
