About the position

The Medical Assistant position at our urgent care facility in Walpole, MA, is a full-time role focused on providing quality, patient-centered care. The Medical Assistant will support healthcare providers by assisting with patient care and clinical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for examination by obtaining and recording vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent information.
• Assist healthcare providers with minor procedures, including wound care, splinting, and other urgent care treatments.
• Administer injections, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests as required.
• Collect, label, and process lab specimens following protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.
• Ensure exam rooms and equipment are cleaned and properly stocked between patients.
• Educate patients and families on follow-up care instructions.
• Respond to patient inquiries and provide information within the scope of practice.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) preferred.
• Previous experience in an urgent care or similar healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong clinical and communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
