About the position

The Medical Assistant position at Privia Health involves providing essential support to physicians and patients in a clinical setting. The role focuses on enhancing patient care by managing administrative tasks, preparing patients for examinations, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations within the healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in patient interaction, education, and maintaining confidentiality while adhering to healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort patients to examining room; make them feel welcome and comfortable
  • Prepare patient for exams; obtain urine specimens, check vital signs, document symptoms, complaints & medications
  • Ensure the patient's demographic information is correct and updated
  • Evaluate calls for emergencies and triage appropriately
  • Coordinate and schedule physician's appointments, meetings, etc.
  • Assist the physician, residents and fellows with exams and procedures
  • Give injections and/or teach the patient to administer injections to self
  • Assist patient with obtaining lab slips and/or referrals, scheduling procedures, prescriptions, etc.
  • Educate patients on healthcare concerns & problems, office & hospital procedures, medications, testing, etc.
  • Cooperate and interact with team members and coworkers
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and others
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Maintain patient flow
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines
  • Other duties as required

  • Adheres to policies and procedures
  • 1+ Year of Experience in a Clinical Setting
  • Completed Medical Assistant Program Certificate/License: Medical Assisting Certification Required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
