About the position
The Medical Assistant position at AdventHealth involves supporting healthcare teams and patients by addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The role includes facilitating communication, performing clinical tasks, and maintaining accurate medical records, all while promoting patient health and safety in accordance with established care standards. This position is integral to the patient care process and requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with healthcare teams and patients/families.
- Identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.
- Promote optimal health, wellbeing, and safety of patients according to care standards.
- Perform clinical tasks as directed by authorized healthcare providers.
- Assist with front office duties and scheduling of tests/patient appointments.
- Maintain accurate chart documentation and medical records.
- Attend in-service presentations and seminars for personal and professional growth.
- Demonstrate accountability for relationship-based care and organizational values.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Successful completion of all Medical Assistant Core Skills and additional competencies as defined within the Scope of Practice for CHPG Medical Assistants.
- Successful completion of assigned/required courses in the online learning platform.
