About the position
The Medical Assistant at Care Alliance plays a crucial role in providing high-quality medical and dental care to underserved populations in Northeast Ohio. This position requires a motivated individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating empathy and compassion towards patients. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for maintaining patient records, preparing examination rooms, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Greet and check in patients arriving at the clinic. Prepare patients to be seen by the provider.
- Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
- Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
- Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Prepare and administer medications for patients as directed by the provider.
- Run P.O.C. tests as requested by the provider and collect and prepare lab specimens.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED and completion of a certified medical assistant program, Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Minimum of 1 year of EPIC experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Data coding experience
