About the position

Join our team as a Medical Assistant for our growing concierge medical practice in Glenview, IL. Harper Health is dedicated to caring for each individual—patients and team members alike—ensuring they can live their best life. This role involves direct patient interaction, assisting providers with medical procedures, and maintaining a welcoming and efficient office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients on arrival and gather necessary documentation (insurance card, driver's license, etc.)
  • Assist provider with medical procedures such as drawing blood, sample processing, suture removal, injections, and rapid acute care samples.
  • Monitor and direct incoming patient communication via phone, email, and online portal.
  • Assist with weekly planning, reviewing scheduled appointments, and scheduling provider's annual, acute, and follow-up appointments.
  • Receive and process clinic deliveries, both administrative and clinical.
  • Open/close the office, checking refrigerator temperatures and ensuring medical equipment is operational.
  • Prepare exam rooms, including sanitization and stocking of supplies.
  • Monitor medical and office supply levels and coordinate ordering with the Practice Manager.
  • Develop and maintain relationships among patients and the patient's care team.
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility and respect for patients, families, caregivers, and co-workers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduated from an accredited certification program (CMA/ATC)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Medical Assistant role
  • Excellent Phlebotomy skills
  • Well versed in medical terminology and chronic conditions
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, advocacy, communication, education, and counseling
  • Culturally effective capabilities with sensitivity to varying cultural characteristics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and projects with varying deadlines.
