The Medical Assistant coordinates patient care with the physician, assists with assessments, administers medication as per physician orders, and supports administrative duties that enhance patient care. This role involves greeting patients, preparing them for examinations, taking vital signs, and providing assistance to the physician as needed. The Medical Assistant performs various clinical tasks, including spirometry and other breathing tests, maintains supplies and equipment, and ensures proper documentation in patients' medical records. They also handle prescription calls, perform allergy testing and injections, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and maintain emergency equipment. Additionally, the Medical Assistant is responsible for patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines, attends required training programs, and completes all assigned training within designated timeframes.
