About the position
The Medical Assistant will support healthcare professionals in providing quality patient care within a cardiology and primary care setting. This role involves assisting with patient examinations, managing medical records, and ensuring a smooth patient flow in the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Take patient vital signs, record medical history, and update patient information in electronic medical records
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow in the clinic
- Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and follow-up care
- Assist with medical billing and coding
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record keeping
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
