We offer comprehensive dermatology services including medical dermatology, skin cancer surgery, and cosmetic services. We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Medical Assistants on a 1-year gap year opportunity, ideal for Pre-PA or Pre-Med students looking to gain valuable experience in the medical field before pursuing further education. As a Medical Assistant with Water's Edge Dermatology, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced medical professionals, gaining hands-on experience in various clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Assisting dermatologists with patient examinations, biopsies, and surgical procedures.
- Providing patient education on skincare routines, treatment plans, and post-procedure care.
- Assisting in performing dermatologic procedures such as wound care, suture removal, etc.
- Documenting patient medical histories, symptoms, and treatment plans accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness before each appointment and stocked with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Accurately complete pathology and laboratory requisitions as required.
- Complete logs and send specimens to the laboratory.
- Travel required to other locations throughout the week as needed.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree.
- Students interested in pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Pre-Med.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or dermatology setting is preferred but not required.
