About the position

The Medical Assistant at United Vein & Vascular Centers plays a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring patient well-being. This position is integral to maintaining a positive and efficient environment for both patients and staff, while upholding the high standards of care that the organization is known for. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to provide exceptional medical assistance and contribute to the overall success of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures under the supervision of the physician.
• Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a supportive environment.
• Drive efficient patient flow using eCW to update patient status throughout visits.
• Promptly room patients and perform the Patient Verification process.
• Obtain and document vital signs and take patient photos.
• Turnover patient rooms and ensure procedure rooms are sterile and properly supplied.
• Communicate with the supply chain team to ensure procedure rooms are stocked appropriately.
• Uphold the superior standards of care outlined by United Vein & Vascular Centers.

• Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a patient care setting.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (AHA) or the ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
• CMA or RMA credential preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and experience with electronic medical records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Dependable with reliable attendance and punctuality.
