About the position

The Medical Assistant at Conviva, part of Humana, serves as the first point of contact for patient care, performing both administrative and clinical duties. This role involves a variety of tasks including patient interaction, data entry into electronic medical records, taking vital signs, administering injections, and maintaining examination rooms. The Medical Assistant collaborates closely with healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care while adhering to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties and patient care activities.
• Discuss symptoms and gather information for electronic medical records.
• Take vital signs and administer injections.
• Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens.
• Draw blood and sterilize equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms.
• Collaborate with Physicians and Nurses to provide patient care.

Requirements

• Successful completion of MA school/training program or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience with Provider approval.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience.
• CPR Certified.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (specific states require certification).
• Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
• Bilingual in English and Creole.
• Experience with EMR System, ECW (eClinicalWorks).
