About the position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians to facilitate patient care in both the office and home environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in the clinic and home.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and documenting medical histories.
- Administer medications as directed and provide instructions to patients.
- Conduct basic coding for patient records and ensure accurate documentation of services provided.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while handling patient information.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience working in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred but not required.
