About The Position

The Medical Assistant at Marathon Health plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and enhancing the patient experience. This position involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, working closely with primary care physicians to ensure comprehensive care delivery. The Medical Assistant is responsible for overseeing the patient experience from check-in to check-out, while also performing clinical tasks such as taking vitals, administering medications, and assisting with procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at the time of start date.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop individual patient care plans and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties including patient scheduling, medical record requests, and documentation.
  • Record accurate data in the medical record according to guidelines.
  • Process test results and communicate them to patients as directed by the Provider.
  • Engage in outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible groups.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
