About the position
The Medical Assistant position at our pediatric office in Hoffman Estates, IL, is designed for a team player who can efficiently manage a workload while addressing multiple patient requests. This role is open to both part-time and full-time candidates, including new graduates. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for patient interaction, assisting with medical inquiries, and ensuring a smooth operation of the office alongside the medical receptionist. A strong emphasis is placed on politeness and organization to enhance the patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting them in person and on the telephone.
- Answer inquiries or refer questions to the appropriate staff member.
- Room patients and assist with phone calls related to medical questions.
- Chart necessary information for new and current pediatric patients.
- Manage pediatric immunizations and perform routine tests such as flu and strep tests.
- Familiarize with eClinicalWorks EMR to enter important patient information.
- Assist the medical receptionist to ensure the office runs smoothly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- 1 year of experience in a pediatric or family practice preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Basic office skills and computer skills are essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Nice-to-haves
- Associate degree preferred.
- Experience as a medical office receptionist preferred.
- Knowledge of Gujarati language preferred.
