About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support within a dynamic medical environment, particularly in dermatology and emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and rescheduling appointments
• Answering phone calls
• Collecting co-pays
• Preparing prior authorizations for medications
• Composing letters for patient communication
• Providing patient care by preparing patients' online charts
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• Managing medical administrative support tasks
• Facilitating communication between patients and medical staff
• Upholding cleanliness and safety standards within the clinical environment

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or front desk staff
• Familiarity with medical administrative support systems and electronic health records (EHR) or EMR
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient service excellence
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations, particularly in emergency medicine contexts
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory
