About the position
Urgent Care for Children is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The position involves working in a fast-paced clinic environment, providing essential support to our medical staff and ensuring a high standard of care for our pediatric patients. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for various tasks, including patient triage, record keeping, and assisting with medical procedures. This role requires a commitment to professionalism and excellent customer service, as well as the ability to work on a rotating schedule that includes weekends.
Responsibilities
- Triage patients efficiently as per clinic standard operating protocols
- Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
- Perform lab tests as per clinical protocols and as per medical provider orders
- Update and maintain all digital client records and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital format
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Help in the front office as needed, taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the facility
- Administer medications as directed by a provider
- Assist providers during exam and procedures
- Perform x-ray positioning as directed
- Assist in maintaining the medical inventory as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be a graduate from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program, or Certified Medical Assistant with relevant work experience required
- Pediatric experience a plus
- High level of professionalism
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience in using electronic medical record
