Responsibilities

  • Perform vital sign documentation
  • Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Provide essential patient care assistance to support the doctor's daily activities
  • Greet patients, take vital signs, and prepare examination rooms
  • Assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes
  • Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
  • Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns
  • Document messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
  • Complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area
  • Manage orders and referrals in the EMR system
  • Accurately document medical information in patient records
  • Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review
  • Communicate test results with patients when appropriate
  • Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies
  • Perform basic computer skills in using electronic health records proficiently
  • Process orders appropriately and accurately
