About the position
Connecticut GI is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Old Saybrook Care Center. This role is essential in providing remarkable patient experiences and supporting our team of physicians and advanced practitioners in delivering comprehensive and compassionate care. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and maintaining accurate medical records using Epic EMR. We are looking for team members who embody our vision of treating every patient like family.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs including blood pressure, height, and weight.
- Document patient information accurately using Epic EMR.
- Update patient's medical history and medication list.
- Document all patient phone calls and inform patients of test results under provider guidance.
- Assist with the prior authorization process as needed.
- Ask appropriate triage questions and record responses accurately.
Requirements
- Graduated from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program (preferred).
- At least one year of Medical Assistant experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of medical terminology with at least one year of healthcare experience.
- Experience with EMR systems, preferably Epic.
