About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hospital setting, particularly within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center, and possess a strong background in patient care. This role involves supporting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality medical services, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and document accordingly.
• Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
• Perform coding for medical procedures and diagnoses to ensure accurate billing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medical office or clinic environment.
• Support inpatient care in various departments including Dermatology, PICU, and other specialized units.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

• Proficiency in patient care techniques within a hospital environment.
• Knowledge of coding practices for effective documentation.
• Experience working in both Level I Trauma Center and Level II Trauma Center settings is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medication administration protocols.
• Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
