About the position

The Medical Assistant position at a dermatology and cosmetic medicine clinic involves supporting the efficient flow of the clinic by managing patient interactions, assisting with medical procedures, and handling administrative tasks. The role is essential for ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to treatment and follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Walking patients to their exam rooms
• Scribing and entering information as needed in EMA/Modernizing Medicine
• Obtaining patient consents for procedures
• Setting up and assisting physician with medical procedures
• Administering medications (including IM subcutaneous injections) with physician order
• Reviewing instructions with patients
• Preparing and maintaining exam rooms
• Maintaining and tracking medical supply inventory
• Sterilizing medical instruments
• Taking and addressing patient calls, and answering basic patient questions regarding treatments, procedures, and diagnoses
• Assisting with patient care coordination
• Assisting with answering phones and scheduling patients
• Assisting with patient check-in and check-out if needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is highly preferred
• 2 years or more of Medical Assistant experience
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with EMA/Modernizing Medicine and familiarity with prior authorizations on biologics is a plus
