Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake, including obtaining vital signs and medical histories.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked.
• Assist healthcare providers during patient exams and minor procedures.
• Perform basic lab tests, administer injections, and handle specimen collection as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide excellent patient care and customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and patient check-ins.
• Maintain clean and organized examination rooms.
• Provide patients with educational information about their treatments and medications.
• Handle prior-authorizations and referrals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program (certification preferred but not required).
• Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Athena EMR is a plus.
• Experience with referrals and Prior Authorizations is a huge plus.
