About the position
The Medical Assistant assists Physicians with all patient procedures, including giving injections, applying dressings and splints, collecting specimens, running lab tests, performing EKGs, drug screen collections, breath alcohol tests, pulmonary function testing, and audiometric testing. The role also includes performing clerical duties as assigned. During times of high patient volume or to assist with coverage, the Medical Assistant may be asked to float to other PPG clinics.
Responsibilities
- Assist Physicians with all patient procedures.
- Give injections and apply dressings and splints.
- Collect specimens and run lab tests.
- Perform EKGs, drug screen collections, breath alcohol tests, pulmonary function testing, and audiometric testing.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned.
- Float to other PPG clinics during high patient volume.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of Physician Office experience in a clinical capacity, or must be a certified Medical Assistant in lieu of experience.
- Department Specific Certifications may be required.
Nice-to-haves
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
