About The Position

The position involves ensuring quality patient care by adhering to organizational and medical policies at Las Clinicas del Norte. The role requires collaboration with team members to treat patients with respect and support. Responsibilities include preparing patients for physician encounters, providing staff support, ensuring patient safety, assisting in medical tasks, organizing electronic health records, adhering to infection control standards, and assisting patients and families with communication and paperwork. The position also involves maintaining skills through continuing education and contributing to team efforts by participating in meetings and performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience with EMR systems (Preferred)
• 1 year of experience with vital signs (Preferred)
• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care by adhering to organizational and medical policies.
• Prepares patients for physician encounters by recording vital statistics and updating medical histories.
• Provides staff support by performing simple treatments and processing laboratory specimens.
• Assures patient safety by observing and reporting unusual behaviors or conditions.
• Assists in the performance of medical tasks by helping providers and scheduling diagnostic studies.
• Assists in organizing the electronic health record by preparing and updating patient information.
• Adheres to infection control standards and practices using aseptic techniques.
• Assists patients and families by providing translation services and completing clinic paperwork.
• Assists clinic's lead medical assistant and chief medical officer by maintaining medical supplies.
• Maintains and updates skills through continuing education and in-house training.
• Contributes to the team effort by participating in meetings and performing related tasks as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
