About the position

The Medical Assistant at Advanced Surgery Center plays a crucial role in supporting patient care within a surgical environment. This position involves assisting with patient admissions, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a smooth recovery process in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will be experienced, preferably bilingual in Vietnamese or Chinese, and committed to maintaining high standards of patient confidentiality and care.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the patient admission process by instructing patients on changing into Operating Room attire and attaching monitoring devices.
• Collects and records patients' vital signs including height, weight, pulse, blood pressure, and temperature.
• Alerts Registered Nurse (RN) for any abnormalities based on collected data.
• Assists with patient recovery in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) by offering refreshments and assisting with discharge.
• Cleans patient stretchers and organizes supplies to maintain a ready environment for admissions.
• Maintains medical records as directed by the supervisor and complies with HIPAA regulations.
• Participates in staff meetings and in-service programs, and assists in the orientation of new employees.

Requirements

• CPR Certification
• BLS Certification
• Experience in patient monitoring and care
• Familiarity with EMR systems
• Ability to communicate in Vietnamese or Chinese is preferred
• Entry-level experience in patient observation.
