About the position
As a Medical Assistant at Concentra, you will perform routine medical and testing procedures under the direct supervision of the treating clinician. Your role is crucial in ensuring that every patient receives quality clinical care and an excellent patient experience, embodying the Concentra Way. You will be responsible for various tasks including preparing patients for examinations, performing ancillary testing, and assisting clinicians during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by treating clinicians.
- Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing required testing.
- Assist providers during examination and treatment.
- Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the treating clinician.
- Dispense medications and appliances as ordered by the treating clinician.
- Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
- Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping.
- Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices.
- Manage patient flow and volume, keeping patients informed of expected wait times.
- Perform clerical tasks associated with patient care and proper record keeping.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school or Military Medical Specialist with current Medical Assistant credentials.
- Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific).
- Previous medical office experience preferred.
